MWA Flood Relief Program in Flood Affected Area of District Tank

 and District Dera Ismail Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.

Project Intervention:

Southern districts Tank & Dera Ismail Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa affected severely by heavy rainfall and floods during monsoon’s heavy rains in adjacent tribal district south waziristan. The impact of these floods was severe due constant raining in Waziristan’s mountainous areas that resulted heavy floods in the downward settled areas of district tank and D.I.Khan. Rural areas of district tank were under heavy floods, which caused huge devastation. Some of the houses demolished completely and some partially, household items destroyed under the derbies of collapsed buildings, ready crops in the fields lost.

MWA regional teams in District Tank and Dera Ismail Khan responded promptly and initiated rescue operations in collaboration with local Rescue 1122 teams. Hundreds of flood victims rescued to the nearest safe and temporary shelters.

Food districted among the flood affectees in various areas on daily basis during lunch and dinner. Shortage of pure drinking water was another problem. MWA teams distributed mineral water and milk powder for infants.

MWA established “FLOOD RELIEF CAMP”  in Dera Ismail Khan, people donated various products of daily use for quick relief to  flood victims. People donated cash for the support of flood affectees.

MWA conducted a “Fund Raising Event” in Capital city Islamabad, where community responded generously and donated 1.3 million rupees .

MWA conducted another event in Karachi under the vice chairman of MWA Haji Jahanzeb Burki, prominent businessmen of Mahsud community participated and whole-heartedly donated for the noble cause. Rs. 4.8 million raised for flood affectees. MWA  all volunteer members generously support MWA in this hard time and donated sufficient cash from various regions.

Survey of flood affected areas.

After initial rescue and relief activities, MWA’s regional teams visited the flood affected areas. Physically inspected the damages to people’s houses, losses of household items, crops etc. and collected data.

Cash Distribution Ceremony in District Tank & District Dera Ismail Khan

300 most deserving flood affected families were given a total Cash Assistance PKR.6,000,000/-.

October 9, 2022, MWA conducted two ceremonies in District tank  and District Dera Ismail Khan Province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The first grand ceremony was held under the auspices of Mahsud Welfare Association Pakistan in the auditorium of  Zam School and College at District Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which 150 families affected by the recent floods in the suburbs of Tank District were given a total of Rs 20,000 per family. A total cash assistance of Rs.3.0 million has been distributed and tents will be given to 50 more houses

In the ceremony, Chairman of MWA former Additional IG Police Mr. Rehmat Khan Mahsud, Deputy Secretary KPK Mr. Roshan Mahsud, Assistant Commissioner Sarwekai Mr. Ijaz Khan, Mohtamim Darul Uloom Tank Mufti Abdul Rahim Sahib, Mayor Ladha Mr. Taj Maluk. General Secretary MWA Dr. Noor zaman, Finance Secretary MWA Razaullah Jan, Khudai Khedmatgar Mr. Gaddafi Mahsud, Principal ZAM College Mr. Kalamuddin, volunteer members and coordinators of MWA as well as regional and national leaders participated. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to all the volunteers who participated in the rescue and relief activities from the first day in  the recent Flood Relief Program of MWA, as the program could not have been successful without their timely, selfless and tireless efforts.

The second grand ceremony was held under the auspices of Mahsud Welfare Association Pakistan in the Lords Marriage Hall at District Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which 150 families affected by the recent floods in the suburbs of Dera ismail Khan District were given a total of Rs 20,000 per family. A total cash assistance of Rs.3.0 million has been distributed and tents will be given to 50 more houses.

Ex-Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sang-e-marjan Mahsud graced the ceremony as Chief Guest. Journalists, Advocates, Doctors, Lecturers, Professors, students and Tribal Elders participated in the event.

On 11th October 2022, at District Tank 50 Tents were distributed to Flood affected families by MWA regional Team at Tank Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The heads of the affected families thanked MWA for helping the brothers in trouble since the beginning and praying for all the donors who generously contributed financially to this cause.
