Mahsud Welfare Association (MWA), is a non-political, non-profitable and non-governmental organization based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa established in 2014, MWA is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charities Act, 2019 and Pakistan Center for Philanthropy, declared as a Non-Profit Organization under section 2 (36) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. Education has been overlooked in erstwhile (FATA) Federally administered Tribal Areas in general and Waziristan in particular, where literacy rate according to official statistics is very low as compared to other parts of the country. Absence of effective policy and lack of attention to develop education sector in Waziristan resulted in illiteracy, triggering extremist tendencies in the society.
